Here's to Janice Horton's 'How Do You Voodoo?' day!

Friend and novelist Janice Horton is having a blog launch of her Hallowe'en novella 'How Do You Voodoo?' today. It's a cracking read, full of dark moments leavened by lots of fun, and the toffee-nosed heroine finally learns her lesson. Thoroughly recommended!

Janice has asked for a 'spell', using some of the ingredients on her blog page http://janicehortonwriter.blogspot.co.uk/

Here's mine:

To make the man of your dreams appear before you...
Take eagle's feather and single rose. Have no fears!
Add twig of hawthorne, some dragon's tears,
Thistledown and northern lights
Deep in the witching hour of night.
Make your wish. Open your eyes.
In front of you will be – your surprise!

Good luck with your launch, Janice.

  1. I like the idea of this spell, Jenny - the man of my dreams appearing at my whim! Although I'd best not try chanting this until later on this evening - as he's out at work right now and probably wouldn't want to be whizzed away to appear before me !

Let me know if it works though?

Thanks for your lovely support today Jenny!

  6. The following spell - if that is what it is - has worked twice so far with people to whom I've recommended it. If a couple is having trouble conceiving, cut off a piece from the hem of the woman's nightdress (or pyjamas but it must be sleep-related) and make a small bag of it. Into that, pop an ear of corn, a favourite flower, and some grains of sand. Hang it all from the bedpost if there is one - if not the door handle will do.
Spells should only be for good, I think....book sounds great fun! Good post.
