I studied French and Italian, and can't believe that I used to read novels in both languages-have thought about returning to them one of these days. A favourite Italian author used to be Stefano Benni, and I loved his book: Il Bar Sotto Il Mare, about a group of people who meet in a bar under the sea-his books really made me think, plus he writes beautifully.Anita Chapmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08643609708390860371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-40256256164287985362016-11-01T08:09:00.226+00:002016-11-01T08:09:00.226+00:00Retreat was great - I'd thoroughly recommend o...Retreat was great - I'd thoroughly recommend one if your family will let you escape :).Gill Stewarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10089988752054189176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-12184620012483783462016-10-30T21:25:24.192+00:002016-10-30T21:25:24.192+00:00Your writing retreat sounds idyllic, Gill and what...Your writing retreat sounds idyllic, Gill and what an interesting way to get closer to your teenage character and the way she talks. : )Rae Cowiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10213969901991611348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-89612697592952031232016-10-30T16:13:03.799+00:002016-10-30T16:13:03.799+00:00Thanks for popping by Rosemary. Richard reads and has read lots of French books and keeps telling me, it's the only way to improve my very bad French! I do buy French magazines and half heartedly flip through them - there never seems to be enough time! One of my favourite books The Presidents Hat (I think I've mentioned it before?) I read the translation but you could try the original. Jennifer Bohnethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08810459802006672088noreply@blogger.com
