I have read it 3 times.)

Taleb writes: “Nietzsche had the Latin pun aut liberi, aut libri—either children or books, both information that carries through the centuries.”

Source: https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/19092611-antifragile-things-that-gain-from-disorder?page=12

Also, 510: http://latin.topword.net/?Phrase=500Terjehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07828532562980871360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-40288390445385760112011-11-30T13:17:58.520+00:002011-11-30T13:17:58.520+00:00Whoops, I thought I'd already posted a comment...Whoops, I thought I'd already posted a comment but it seems not....so here it is again. This was an interesting blog - and it made me feel lucky that I didn't have to make a choice in my salad days - neither did I even think about making that sort of choice....writer or children. I was a fairly early starter in the mother stakes, a rather late one in the writer stakes ....and the latter sort of followed on from the former once my children had flown the nest. But that said, if I really want to do something then I can usually make it happen, however many curved balls life throws at me ...:)Linda Mitchelmorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10948518126405880012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-77650868115989939362011-11-26T13:37:22.041+00:002011-11-26T13:37:22.041+00:00Very interesting post, Gill - I too gave my full a...Very interesting post, Gill - I too gave my full attention to the children when growing up, but now it's my turn (most of the time)!

It is a Nietzche quote - will give you it on WS, if you haven't found it by then.Rosemary Gemmellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09311840205603508422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855283511538601375.post-41117920824038835882011-11-26T11:03:55.053+00:002011-11-26T11:03:55.053+00:00I think you can have both - but one has to take pr...I think you can have both - but one has to take priority. Like you Gill, I chose my kids, but then they grow up and fly the nest and writing time flies in - which keeps you busy and stops you worrying about them ALL the time!Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01831786754054878605noreply@blogger.com
